Reading on Trauma

Wednesday, April 20th, 2011

For many people, just accepting the label of trauma can be a long journey. I find that most clients just need some text that resonates in order to accept the term and to begin the path of healing.

The books I have listed here are more in depth than most may need. However, these are all great resources.

While you will find many books on trauma just by googling, and there is much online information on the topic, here are some important contributions to the field. If you click on the links, you will find the Amazon descriptions:

The Body Remembers
Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy with Trauma Survivors
Feeling Unreal
Finding Life Beyond Trauma

The Haunted Self
Healing the Heart of Trauma and Dissociation

Tapping In
Trauma and the Body
The Trauma Spectrum

Waking the Tiger
