Other Authors of Note: Emily Carr, Canadian painter of nature; Carlos Castaneda; Stanislav Grof; Mary Oliver, poet. Descriptions in biographies and autobiographies of artists and scientists often illuminate the inner life of the sensitive. Although Grof writes about expanded states of awareness resulting from the intake of hallucinogens, his work, and that of Castaneda, resonate with many sensitives who struggle with their inherently expanded consciousness. Joanna Trollope is a fiction writer who is extraordinary in her ability to describe the subtlest qualities of the interior worlds of both adults and children.
